about

WELCOME TO GR Trust ASSOCIATION

Guru Rimpochhe Peace Trust was founded through the philanthropic vision of Nun (Yogini) Bhim Suwa Gurung, who has devoted over two decades of her life to selfless service inspired by the teachings of Lord Buddha. Through her extensive travels, she witnessed the hardships faced by monks, nuns, and senior citizens—individuals who have dedicated their lives to the service of humanity yet often live in neglect and deprivation. These experiences deepened her compassion and resolve to take meaningful action on their behalf.

Guided and supported by eminent Gurus, she initiated this noble endeavor to uphold human dignity, promote spiritual well-being, and advance the cause of global harmony. Under her leadership, Guru Rimpochhe Trust (GR Peace Trust) was formally established to carry forward her lifelong mission of service.

Named after Padmasambhava—Guru Rimpochhe—the revered 8th-century Indian Buddhist Master who spread the Dharma to the Himalayas, the Trust operates within the philosophical framework of Buddhism, emphasizing compassion, wisdom, and the unity of all beings. Central to its vision is the promotion of PEACE DIPLOMACY AND DIALOGUE, fostering understanding and cooperation among diverse communities, cultures, and nations.

Formally registered on May 22, 2016, as a non-profit, non-political social development organization, GR Trust is dedicated to alleviating human suffering and advancing social welfare through humanitarian aid, medical assistance, and the dissemination of Buddha’s timeless teachings—particularly the Four Noble Truths and the Noble Eightfold Path.

Current Initiatives include:

  • Establishing and operating an Old Age Home for Buddhist monks and devotees, offering care, dignity, and companionship to those who have dedicated their lives to spiritual and social service.
  • Advancing peacebuilding through intercultural and interfaith dialogue, using Buddhist principles as a bridge for mutual respect and understanding.
  • Developing a replica of the sacred Swayambhu Stupa in Japan, as a symbol of cross-border friendship, cultural exchange, and shared spiritual heritage.
  • Reconstructing, renovating, and preserving Buddhist cultural heritage sites, including stupas, monasteries, and libraries, to safeguard them for future generations.

These efforts are supported by respected Gurus, global well-wishers, and philanthropic individuals committed to the Trust’s mission. Together, we work to uphold the dignity of elders, preserve sacred traditions, and foster a world where compassion and dialogue pave the way for lasting peace.
